Student Athletes Showcase their talents in state competitions

This last Saturday, November 4th, several of our teams competed in state championship competitions.

Volleyball

Our girls volleyball team played hard on Saturday in the OSAA state championships. Pitted against Jesuit, our Lady Pioneers rallied through 5 games and didn’t lose easily. Unfortunately, Jesuit won the state championship title, but our volleyball team played so well and did a great job nonetheless. Congratulations to a fantastic season!

Cross Country

Despite the treacherous rainfall, the Oregon City High School Cross Country team ran hard and represented the school well.

The first Pioneer across the line for the boys was Freshman Hunter McKenzie. Logan Sorensen, Tyler Scott, Adam White, Joel Reed, Clark Mortensen and James Conway rounded out the scoring for their squad. When all was said and done, the boys finished in 18th place.

Lydia Dale ran as an individual for the 2nd consecutive year. She finished in 25th place out of the 150 girls who qualified for the championship. Her performance is the best State Meet finish for an OC female since 1999.

Cheer

The Oregon City High School Cheer team was competing in state competitions as well. They placed 2nd in state coed stunt, 5th in state coed stunt, and won a Bronze medalist 6A all girl team, with a $500 scholarship going to Junior Kylie Paulsen. Nice work cheer! Way to go!
